Panel Trucks
Almost similar to a sedan delivery truck, a panel truck is a much bigger version with a windowless cargo van built on top of a truck’s chassis. Using a truck’s chassis allows the panel truck to carry heavier cargoes than a sedan. The windowless van is purposely built that way to prevent gang thieves from taking valuable items carried by the van for delivery. The van can be locked and being windowless makes it less prone to theft because thieves cannot see what is inside them and have no way of knowing its contents.
Panel van and pickup truck are the similar names of panel trucks. They are mostly used to deliver small consumer durable items such as diapers, bakery products, flowers, small electrical appliances and washed laundry. These panel trucks are the favourite workhorses of most courier and messenger service firms because they can carry a lot of cargo but small enough to be manoeuvrable inside small city streets. Another similar name of panel truck is a dry van which is also used primarily to deliver door-to-door non-perishable items. A majority of products we use in our daily life reach us via dry vans. The most popular brand models are those made by Chevrolet, Ford, GMC (General Motors Corporation) and International Harvester.
